I, Lynda, traveled with my counterparts in New Mexico, Gloria Castillo and Jerry Fuentes, to Washington, D.C. in early September. We met with staffers in the offices of Colorado Congresswoman Diana DeGette and Colorado Senator Mark Udall, and with the National Farmers Union. We felt the conversations were productive, though it’s hard to quantify how that translates into action and results.
We were pleased that, in all cases, our hosts were knowledgeable about the topic. Our initiatives in Colorado and New Mexico are committed to helping agricultural organizations, such as the National Farmers Union and Farm Bureau, inform farmers about the economic opportunities awaiting them with the cultivation of hemp.
